36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The 1st scripture is clear in what is expected of us, to give Him our all. Vs. 39 is every bit as specific; if our calling is to be more Christ like, than we must love others as we do ourselves. Other’s needs, other’s hurts, other’s desires. If we die to ourselves and love others the way He loved us, then we are living out His commandments.
So who is He talking about? How can we effectively do what He is asking of us? The answers are found in Matthew 28. “Who is my neighbor?” The reality is “who isn’t?” Anyone that we come in contact with, that we have an opportunity to build a relationship with, those are our neighbors. What better way to go about loving our neighbors than by making Disciples for Christ?
This is the vision for the Men of COAHC:
- To build relationships,
- That will build a foundation,
- That will equip believers,
- To be comfortable and confident in their Faith,
- And enable them to share The Good News with their neighbors
- Who will start to build more relationships!!!
- And so His Kingdom multiplies!
